Training
If you are looking for training that encourages curiosity, willingness, and adaptability – I am here to help!
I train horses with the horse’s well-being at the center of everything I do–giving them the space to communicate, feel and process. Horses thrive when we slow down and take the time they need. When timelines are rushed, important steps get missed, frustration builds and we end up further away from the goal of creating a well-rounded partner.
My goal is to develop horses that understand their bodies, move correctly, and are prepared for almost anything that is asked of them. This applies for horses both under-saddle and those who are just starting their journey. I truly enjoy the process of refining, shaping, and guiding each horse as an individual.
While my foundation is rooted in English disciplines, I’ve continued my education to better support horses across a variety of styles and programs. I want each and every horse in my care to succeed in any environment they enter- and for their owners to truly enjoy the experience alongside them.
Training and consignment spots are limited. I spend a significant amount of time with each horse that enters my program which means I don’t take a full barn of horses at once. There is a minimum of 60 days for starting horses. After years of working with stallions, I am ready to step back from horses who struggle with aggressive behavior. Challenging behavior outside of that is welcome. Travel training available.
*Training horses must come with up-to-date vaccination records, a dental done within six months and be on a consistent trim/shoeing cycle. I want each horse set up for success when entering my program. Horses are boarded in a herd setting – No stalls available unless needed for medical treatment.*
⬩$1000 4 weeks/5 times per week not including board⬩

“I sent my gelding to Mattea to work through some of his anxiety in the arena. Not only did she do an amazing job doing just that, she also worked with me during his time with her to make sure I had the skillset to continue the work she did while he was with her. She made sure I felt confident moving forward.”
